  3. when it is damaged? I have a wooden chopping board and it is still in perfect condition

    ReplyDelete
  4. I've been using the same chopping board for about 10 years. So my answer would be, when it no longer functions as a chopping board i.e. it breaks into small pieces.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Every 3 years? Not sure really, definitely when they get very scratched.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think it is a fantastic idea and love it!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Every 12 months

    ReplyDelete
  8. Not sure how often people recommend but as I normally buy wooden ones I change mine 2 monthly

    ReplyDelete
  9. Every 6 months or so I would have thought, could be less.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I guess it depends on the material but if it becomes too worn and hard to clean then replace it.

  12. It depends on the board - if plastic, change it when it's scored as germs can linger in the grooves. If wooden, it lasts longer with proper care - I tend to ignore official guidelines and replace when it need it.

  13. I'm not sure, maybe once a year or , if like me you have a glass one, when it breaks. I love this one in the giveaway, so stylish and funky, my kitchen is red and cream and this would look so nice x

  14. I'm not sure but I'm guessing mine have overstayed their welcome!!

  15. Pretty much annually, but we have never had a very good one to be honest!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I change mine whenever they look worn out.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think it depends on how often you use it and what it is made of. I have wooden chopping boards and have been told to salt them, don't leave them to soak and they will last longer, but I'm planning on getting some more as they do look a bit tired and I've had them a couple of years now

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would say once it starts to warp

    ReplyDelete
  19. replace it if it gets too scratched

    ReplyDelete
  20. When the old one is damaged/worn.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I change my chopping board once a year.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'd say when it starts looking worn or has deep groves that can't be cleaned.

    ReplyDelete
  23. If there is any obvious sign /s of damage e.g. cracks, scratches etc. As these make it difficult to clean thoroughly. Timing of replacements could vary due to frequency of use etc.

  24. Not very often!! I love this board.

    ReplyDelete
  25. After six months seems reasonable.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have changed chopping boards when they started to look worn - I have had a glass board for about 4 years now and it looks good as new!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Only have one board and thats for cutting raw meat. Last changed many years ago.

  28. When the surface is pitted or worn out

    ReplyDelete
  29. every few months or when they get damaged

    ReplyDelete
  30. How often should you change your chopping board?
whenever you feel like it lol

    ReplyDelete
  31. I was told that plastic and wooden cutting boards do wear out over time, however, once any cutting board becomes excessively worn or develops hard-to-clean grooves, they should be discarded and replace! This splash chopping board looks great! So unique! Thank you xxx PS I have different chopping board too - for raw meat, cooked meat, veg, bread etc

    ReplyDelete
  32. I change mine every 3 months as germs get stuck in the scratches. Hygiene in the kitchen is important especially when you have kids.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm not sure. Think it depends on the quality of the board. - Karen Milburn

    ReplyDelete
  34. When the groves are too deep is when ours goes in the bin :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Funky looking board. I like the colour! Red would suit my kitchen perfectly

    ReplyDelete
  36. Every 6 mths but don't think we do - oops!

    ReplyDelete
  37. when it begins to look worn.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Doesn't it depend on the material? I have a glass board which I have had for ages, but a plastic one I would change every year or so

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'd say once every couple of years provided they hadn't any cracks or splits - if they did I'd replace them straight away!

    ReplyDelete
  40. When to change a chopping board?
    What's the main criteria?
I would say when it gets gouged
    Letting in bacteria

    ReplyDelete
  41. It really depends on how much you use it and how thoroughly you clean it. I'd replace when it looked worn, so for someone who buys decent boards and uses them daily that's about once a year.

    ReplyDelete
  42. every six months but mine is a lot older x

    ReplyDelete
  43. When your in IKEA and remember that you need a new one, (along with the rest of the totally unecessary items you've filled your trolley with :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. (I honestly don't know the answer to that, but it has to depend on the material it's made from? Glass can last a lifetime, surely? :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. when it becomes warped or has splits in it that can cause cross contamination

    ReplyDelete
  46. It really depends on the type of board you have and how you care for it. They can last for years but if there is any obvious damage it's best to replace them as bacteria will harbour in them.

    ReplyDelete
  47. How about I hedge my bets and say regularly?! Lol.......

    Laura Harris

    ReplyDelete
  48. Once a chopping board becomes excessively worn or develops hard-to-clean nicks and grooves then it should be replaced. The grooves are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wow! I googled it (I google everything!) it said every couple of years, so I bow my head as we bought ours when we moved in nearly three years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  50. when it is no longer hygienic or safe to use

    ReplyDelete
  51. I would say when it needs it, as they can last a while longer if you take care of them :) x

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow that looks really good and would look great in my kitchen

    ReplyDelete
  53. When it gets damaged such as lots of scratches.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Basically, whenever it's too damaged to clean thoroughly. If if has deep grooves or dents that you can't clean very well then it'll build up with nasty bacteria so it's best to throw it at that stage

    ReplyDelete
  55. As needs be :) I love this design!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh wow, I don't know! About every year or so I guess? I'm off to google...

    Thanks for the brill giveaway!

  57. I have no idea. I have had mine for years and I always thought that bleaching it from time to time would mean it is perfectly safe to keep on using.

    ReplyDelete
  58. It's something I've never considered. We've had our years and always give it a good scrub after each use. No problems so far!

    ReplyDelete
  59. depends on what it is made from and how you look after it. I would say when you need to?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I would replace it when it became overly stained or when it breaks - or when I see an uber cool one that I neeeed! Hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don't know? when it starts to look manky??

    ReplyDelete
  62. When you need to or when you find a fun new one!

    ReplyDelete
  63. We've got a glass one which we've never changed (had it two years) but plastic and wooden ones we've changed every 6 months...

    ReplyDelete
  64. As long as it's cleaned and not cracked I don't see any reason TO replace it. When it breaks.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It depends on how often it is used and how worn it gets.

    ReplyDelete
  66. not really sure, I change if is got scratches ect that bacteria can get in and it hard to clean

    ReplyDelete
  67. every 6 months? or before if it looks tired

    ReplyDelete
  68. Whenever it starts to look tatty?

    ReplyDelete
  69. It depends what you mean. If you mean whilst cooking then whenever you change from raw meat to veg or cooked meat. Or in the long term when they don't come clean (red peppers!), though wooden boards only need changing when you are ashamed of them.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Depends on the material - mine are mainly plastic so when it becomes worn in appearance or difficult to clean 'grooves'

    ReplyDelete
  71. just when its worn and needs it...in my opinion

    ReplyDelete
  72. It depends on how often its used, the material its made from and how worn it has become. Maybe every year?

    ReplyDelete
  73. every few months or when its broken

    ReplyDelete
  74. It depends on the use, what your chopping on it, and how damaged it is.. so each persons chopping boards will have a different life spam! :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. I have no idea!

    @jaizduck

    ReplyDelete
  76. I am guessing it depends what its made off ( in terms of "official" recommendations) I would say change it about every 12 months though .

    ReplyDelete
  77. every 6 months!

    trevor linvell

    ReplyDelete
  78. When it looks like I need a new one1

    ReplyDelete
  79. when it starts to either be too worn or deeply scratched that it cannot be cleaned properly hence harbouring germs , however with proper care wooden boards can last for ages

    ReplyDelete
  80. Its glass and i boil it in the sink

    ReplyDelete
  81. When it's needed. Really depends on the material and use of the board

    ReplyDelete
  82. Not sure, I guess it depends on what it's made of :-)

    ReplyDelete
  83. I change mine every year - or sooner if they look too damaged or worn!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ooooh, I use things until there is absolutely no life left in them - every little helps ;)

    ReplyDelete
  85. depend on the quality and the type of board and how often we use it

    ReplyDelete
  86. I replace them once they're worn and scratched to bits, probably once a year. I use plastic ones that go in the dishwasher so cleanliness isn't an issue

    ReplyDelete
  87. I don't know the recommended length of time but I certainly change mine when it becomes stained or too badly scratched to clean properly.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I don't know the recommended length of time but I certainly change mine when it becomes stained or too badly scratched to clean properly.

    ReplyDelete
  89. When its over used and beyond cleaning

    ReplyDelete
  90. I change mine wooden one every year

    ReplyDelete
  91. When it is looking like an eye-sore :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. I would say when marks a visible or once a year :)

    @oneisjamie

    ReplyDelete
  93. I think it would depend on what it is made of? My chopping board is solid beech, I sterilise it once a week in Milton/boiling water and oil it afterwards. It's now about six years old and perfectly fine.

    @TrishIsTheBoss

    ReplyDelete
  94. whenever it doesnt get clean properly anymore

    ReplyDelete
  95. Never really thought about it! Guess once it's showing signs of damage?

    ReplyDelete
  96. I would think depending on the type, when it is scratched beyond use.

    ReplyDelete
  97. About once a year, depending on the material it is made from.

    ReplyDelete
  98. No idea, probably at least once a year :D
